As Rick Hillier said "We're not the public service of Canada, we're not just another department. We are the Canadian Forces, and our job is to be able to kill people." 

The CF must "be combat-ready and be able to conduct operations to survive. If you want to deter people from threatening your mission, you have to be seen as capable and seen as too big a bully to take on. If all those things fail and you cannot deter violence, you have to be able to fight and win. That is fundamental to everything we do."

Our instructors have led troops in combat an they want to pass this knowledge on to others going into harms way.
